Project summary

Why?

  • Pursue the development of wind potential
  • Improve grid resilience and reliability in the face of increasingly intense weather events.

How?

  • Phase 1: Build a 315-kV substation and approximately 260 km of 315-kV lines.
  • Phase 2: Build a 315-kV substation and approximately 175 km of 315-kV lines.

When?

  • Phase 1: 2034
  • Phase 2: 2036

We are changing the project

The new transmission line and substation will have a voltage of 315 kV rather than 735 kV, as originally planned.

We made this change to the project to upgrade the system in Appalaches–Bas-Saint-Laurent after considering the information and comments we collected on site. The wind power we will be rolling out also factored into the decision. All other project parameters remain unchanged.

We’d like to know what you think! Share your comments about the line corridor under study and the proposed site for the future substation by answering our survey.

Time required: 2 to 3 minutes. Thank you!
