Access to charging for heavy-duty vehicles

Status : In progress

Objective

Support the decarbonization of medium- and heavy-duty vehicle transportation by encouraging the more widespread use of electric trucks.

Project description

To foster the electrification of medium- and heavy-duty vehicle transportation, the Hydro Lab is currently working to explore and understand the needs and ambitions of ecosystem stakeholders in order to ultimately collaborate with them on cocreating and testing business models to increase the number of charging stations for medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles (EVs).

Anticipated benefits

  • Generating knowledge and data on the current and future needs and challenges of the heavy transportation ecosystem
  • Developing business models to be expanded and tested
  • Supporting the growth of transportation through the use of medium- and heavy-duty EVs
  • Contributing to Québec’s decarbonization goals

Solutions explored

  • To be determined at a later stage
