Changes to the Catered Component of the Buildings Program

The Buildings Program was amended on November 19, 2018.

If you took steps to join the Program before November 19, 2018, please read the information below to learn about your options.

Select the situation that applies to your project.

You started work if you issued your first purchase order or signed your first service contract related to the project.

You have two options:

  1. If the measures are predefined in the OSE calculation tool [EXE 11.4 MB – in French only] for the Simplified Option under the Efficient Solutions Program, you can submit your project using that option.

Your project, which was submitted under the Catered Component, will be closed. Once you have implemented your energy efficiency measures, you can submit your project under the Simplified Option. You will receive a new project number at that time.

The project shall be subject to the requirements of the Participant’s Guide in effect on November 19, 2018.

Take advantage of all the eligible measures and a streamlined procedure!

    • Fewer forms to fill in
    • Fewer steps to follow
    • No energy simulation to submit
    • Only one file to submit, containing both technical and administrative information
  2. If your project isn’t eligible for the Simplified Option, you must submit it under the Catered Component of the Buildings Program.

The project shall be subject to the requirements of the Participant’s Guide in effect on the project start date.

  1. If the measures are predefined in the OSE calculation tool [EXE 11.4 MB – in French only] for the Simplified Option under the Efficient Solutions Program, you must submit your project using that option, as long as it meets the requirements of the Participant’s Guide in effect on November 19, 2018.

  2. If the measures are not predefined in the program's OSE calculation tool [EXE 11.4 MB – in French only], you have two options:

    a) Submit your project under the Customized Option if it meets the stipulated requirements, subject to approval by Hydro-Québec.

If eligible, your project will be cancelled under the Catered Component and registered under the Customized Option.

The project shall be subject to the requirements of the Participant's Guide in effect on November 19, 2018.

Submit your project to Hydro-Québec right away to make sure it qualifies.

    b) Submit your project under the Catered Component of the Buildings Program, as planned.

The project shall be subject to the requirements of the Participant's Guide in effect on February 1, 2017.

Your project doesn’t qualify for any program.

  1. If the measures are predefined in the OSE calculation tool [EXE 11.4 MB – in French only] for the Simplified Option under the Efficient Solutions Program, you must submit it using that option. The terms and conditions applicable to the project are those set out in the Participant’s Guide in effect on November 19, 2018.

  2. If the measures aren’t predefined as part of the Simplified Option, the project may be eligible for the Customized Option, as long as it meets the requirements of the Participant’s Guide in effect on November 19, 2018.

Submit your project to Hydro-Québec right away to make sure it qualifies.

If it does, Hydro-Québec may ask you for paperwork explaining the reason for the start date.

Withdrawal of Integrated Design Option

Please note that the Integrated Design Option has been withdrawn from the program.

Please see the applicable Participant’s Guide and use the tools provided to carry out your project under this option. You have to use the forms and tools listed below.
