Heat pump installation by region by Hydro‑Québec

We will only contact eligible households living in regions where the installation service is available.

    Communication with your landlord

Hydro‑Québec will email or call your landlord to inform them that you would like to receive a heat pump free of charge. Hydro‑Québec will explain the offer and outline the steps involved.

    What to do:

Just make sure your landlord can get in touch with you, just in case.

  3. Work authorization

    LANDLORD

To formalize the work authorization, your landlord will have to provide the following:

    • proof of ownership
    • consent
    • any information required by Hydro‑Québec to produce the RL‑27 tax slip

    What to do:

Keep the email confirming that your landlord authorized the installation work.

  4. Work steps

    INSTALLER

    Feasibility visit

    • The installer will communicate with your landlord to plan the initial visit.
    • During that visit, the installer will take any necessary measurements and will assess whether the work can be done.
    • You and your landlord will need to agree on an installation date. You will have to give the installer access to your home at that time.

    What to do:

Remove anything from the wall where the heat pump will be installed to make it easier to take the measurements. If possible, be present during the visit.

    Confirmation of work feasibility

The installer will contact your landlord to inform them of the feasibility of the installation and the next steps.

    Important:

Your municipality may require that your landlord obtain a permit before the work begins.

    Installation of your heat pump

The installer will install the heat pump and will provide helpful advice about operation and maintenance.

    What to do:

Agree on an installation date with your landlord. Make sure you are there on that date to receive the advice about operation and maintenance.
