Rate D generally applies to domestic use, that is, electricity use in a home. It also applies to farms.
Rate DP generally applies to domestic use, that is, electricity use in a home, when the maximum power demand has reached 50 kW or more at least once during the last 12 monthly periods. It also applies to farms whose maximum power demand meets this threshold.
Maximum power measured during a consumption period. It is the higher of the following two values: real power in kilowatts (kW), or a percentage (90% for domestic rates and small- and medium-power rates, or 95% for large-power rates) of the apparent power in kilovoltamperes (kVA).
Period of 30 days, which may begin on any day of the month, established by Hydro‑Québec for billing purposes.
Rate DM applies to apartment buildings or community residences having multiple dwellings.
Rate DN generally applies to domestic use, that is, electricity use in a dwelling, when the electricity is supplied by an off-grid system located north of the 53rd parallel, except for the Schefferville system.
An “off‑grid system” is a power system not connected to Hydro‑Québec’s main grid.
Rate Flex D enables customers to save money in winter by shifting, at Hydro‑Québec’s request, their nonessential electricity consumption to outside peak demand events and using less electricity during those events. Rate Flex D generally applies to domestic or household use. It also applies to farms.
Rate DT applies to domestic use, that is, electricity use in a home, when the heating system uses two energy sources: electricity and a fuel. It also applies to farms that use a dual-energy system.
The rate you pay is indicated on your bill beside the Details of costs heading.
