Before you move
Estimate electricity costs
Are you planning on moving to a new apartment or house? Make an informed decision by anticipating electricity costs. If you have an estimate, it will be easier to create your budget!
Save $25 by changing your address online.
Changing your address has never been so quick and easy. You’ll need the full address of where you’ll be moving to, including the postal code, as well as your email address and your telephone number.
If you don’t have a Customer Space yet, it only takes a few minutes to create one!
Remember to send your new address to your other suppliers! You can change your address at seven government departments and agencies, including Revenu Québec and the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec, by using the Service québécois de changement d’adresse.

Moving can be an excellent excuse to declutter. If you have items in good condition that
you no longer need, remember that others could make good use of them! Look for the donation
centers, second-hand stores or other organizations that accept used items in your
neighborhood.
Test your smoke detectors.
Test your smoke
detectors right away by pressing the test button for a few seconds to hear the
alarm. If your detectors are connected to a remote monitoring center, inform your provider
before doing the test. Get into the habit of testing your smoke detectors once a month or
every six months when you change your clocks.
