What will you need?
- Contract holder: Your most recent bill.
- Proxy holder or account manager: A recent bill of the account you manage.
If you don’t have a Customer Space, you can verbally designate an authorized person by contacting us or by filling in the online request for a proxy or consent form. Please allow for processing time.

Answering your questions
What type of authorizations can I provide through my Customer Space?
You can designate an authorized person (by proxy or consent) who can, depending on the case, obtain personal information from your file or act on your behalf, directly from your Customer Space, under the “Billing” tab, in the “Proxy and Permission” section.
What’s the difference between a proxy and consent form?
A proxy authorizes someone else to act on your behalf, while a consent form authorizes someone else to obtain personal information from your file.
Who can have access to personal information?
Only account holders or their authorized representatives (proxy holders or consent holders) may have access to any personal or confidential information associated with an account.
What constitutes personal or confidential information?
Personal identifying information in an account holder’s file includes the following:
- Account holder’s name
- Account number
- Service contract number
- Service and billing addresses
- Account holder’s current address, previous address and email address
- Telephone numbers (home and work)
- Social insurance number (SIN)
- Québec enterprise number (NEQ)
- Current status of the file and related financial details (balance owing, administrative, management and service charges, date of last payment, payment arrangement, risk factor, etc.)
- Credit history
- Contract power
Hydro-Québec complies with the requirements of the Access Act pertaining to the protection of personal information.
Do you hold a proxy for another customer?
If you have a proxy allowing you to manage another Hydro-Québec customer’s account, and you would like to manage this account online, you can add the account to your Customer Space. To do so, you’ll need a recent bill associated with this account. Then, you’ll be able to access it at any time.
Would you like to authorize an individual to act on behalf of your company?
Do you own a small business? Would you like to appoint an account manager? This individual would act on your company’s behalf in dealings with Hydro-Québec. This person can also add your company’s account to his or her Customer Space and designate an authorized person (by proxy or consent).
