Lists of heat pumps eligible for the LogisVert Efficient Homes Program

The LogisVert Efficient Homes Program provides financial assistance for the installation of several measures, including efficient heat pumps. The list of eligible models and the amount of financial assistance granted for each model may change over time. To find out how much you could receive, refer to the list in effect when your heat pump was installed.

Heat pump installed on or after July 17, 2025

Subject to Hydro‑Québec’s approval, the following documents apply to heat pumps installed on or after July 17, 2025, that qualify for the LogisVert Efficient Homes Program.

Sustainable Option

The following conditions must be met to qualify for financial assistance when choosing this option.

Upcoming changes

As of August 25, 2025, the financial assistance for the purchase and installation of geothermal heat pumps in homes will be limited to $54,000 per address, equivalent to a total capacity of 72,000 BTU/h (6 t).

Requests received before August 25, 2025, are not subject to this upper limit.

Eligibility

Eligible company: Builder

Eligible home: A newly constructed house located in Québec and that receives its electricity from the Hydro‑Québec grid or from a municipal or cooperative system.

Conditions

Eligible measures

For your request for financial assistance to be eligible, all measures related to this option must have been implemented and must meet the following conditions:

Geothermal heat pump

The heat pump must have a minimum power of 18,000 BTU/h.
One or more geothermal wells must be drilled vertically or horizontally with a sufficient heat transfer surface to respect the capacity of the heat pump.
The complete system, including the heat pump and the indoor unit(s), must meet the following requirements:
- It must be new.
- It must have been purchased from a Québec retailer or online from a retailer with an address in Québec.
- It must have been installed in an eligible home.

ENERGY STAR^® air exchanger

The air exchanger must meet the following requirements:

It must be new.
It must be an ENERGY STAR^® certified model.
It must have been purchased from a Québec retailer or online from a retailer with an address in Québec.
It must have been installed in an eligible home.

Eligible work

To be eligible, the work must meet the following requirements:

Geothermal heat pump

The work must involve the complete installation of one or more geothermal wells with a collector and one or more geothermal heat pumps for heating and air-conditioning purposes. All the geothermal heat pumps installed must work simultaneously in heating mode, in all conditions. In addition, the capacity of the geothermal well(s) must cover the total capacity (in BTU) of the geothermal heat pumps installed.
The contractor that conducts the work must be listed on the Registraire des entreprises du Québec and have the appropriate licences issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) based on the work required.

ENERGY STAR^® air exchanger

The contractor that conducts the work must be listed on the Registraire des entreprises du Québec and have the appropriate licences issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) based on the work required.

Financial assistance

Hydro‑Québec provides financial assistance in the amount of $750 per 1,000 BTU/h for this option when all Program requirements are met.

Proof of ownership

An electronic copy of the building permit and any legal documents demonstrating the connection between the builder and the eligible home.

The complete system may consist of:
- a central air-to-air split-system heat pump that includes one indoor unit and one outdoor unit
  or
- a wall-mounted, air-to-air mini-split heat pump that includes one or more indoor units and one outdoor unit.
The complete system, including the outdoor unit and the indoor unit(s), must meet the following requirements:
- It must be new.
- It must be on the Program’s list of eligible, high-efficiency heat pumps [PDF 5.9 MB – in French only] ;
- It must have been purchased from a Québec retailer or online from a retailer with an address in Québec.
- It must have been installed in an eligible home.

ENERGY STAR^® air exchanger

The air exchanger must meet the following requirements:

It must be an ENERGY STAR^® certified model.
It must have been purchased from a Québec retailer or online from a retailer with an address in Québec.
It must have been installed in an eligible home.

Eligible work

To be eligible, the work must meet the following requirements:

High-efficiency heat pump

The work must involve the installation of a heat pump for heating and air-conditioning purposes.
The company that conducts the work must be listed on the Registraire des entreprises du Québec, have the appropriate licences issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) based on the work required, and be a member of the professional body associated with the activity sector in question.

ENERGY STAR^® air exchanger

Ineligible work

The following work is not eligible:

High-efficiency heat pump

The installation of indoor units, including the air distribution system, outside the home’s insulated areas, that is, outside the habitable spaces (e.g., in the attic or roof space).

Financial assistance

Hydro‑Québec provides financial assistance in the amount of $140 per 1,000 BTU/h at -8°C for this option when all Program requirements are met.

You must provide all required documents and ensure they contain the requested information.

Proof of ownership

An electronic copy of the building permit and any legal documents demonstrating the connection between the builder and the eligible home.

The ETS heating system must be a Serenity heater, models 4120 or 4210, or any other equivalent Steffes model previously approved, in writing, by Hydro‑Québec.
It must be programmed so that the heating elements do not operate between 6 and 10 a.m. and between 4 and 8 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (winter), throughout the year.
It must meet the following requirements:
- It must be new.
- It must have been purchased from a Québec retailer or online from a retailer with an address in Québec.
- It must be installed in an eligible home.

Central heat pump

The central heat pump must have a minimum power of 24,000 BTU/h.
The complete system may include a central air-to-air heat pump that includes one indoor unit and one outdoor unit.
The complete system, including the outdoor unit and the indoor unit, must meet the following requirements:
- It must be new.
- It must have been purchased from a Québec retailer or online from a retailer with an address in Québec.
- It must be installed in an eligible home.

They must have been installed in an eligible home.

Eligible work

To be eligible, the work must meet the following requirements.

ETS heating system

The company that conducts the work must be listed on the Registraire des entreprises du Québec, have the appropriate licences issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) and be included on the list of Steffes-authorized companies [PDF 193 MB]. This list is not updated in real time. It is possible that your contractor is authorized even though they do not appear on the list.

Central heat pump

The work must involve the installation of a central heat pump for heating and air-conditioning purposes.
The contractor that conducts the work must be listed on the Registraire des entreprises du Québec and have the appropriate licences issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) based on the work required.

ENERGY STAR^® air exchanger

Solar thermal collectors for hot water

Solar thermal collectors must be connected to the domestic hot water circuit of the eligible home.
The contractor that conducts the work must be listed on the Registraire des entreprises du Québec and have the appropriate RBQ licences.

Financial assistance

Hydro‑Québec provides financial assistance in the amount of $22,000 for this option when all Program requirements are met.

Proof of ownership

Geothermal heat pump

The heat pump must have a minimum power of 12,000 BTU/h multiplied by the number of housing units in the eligible building (e.g., for a 10-unit building, the geothermal heat pump(s) must have a combined power of 10 x 12,000 BTU/h, namely 120,000 BTU/h).
One or more geothermal wells must be drilled vertically or horizontally with a sufficient heat transfer surface to respect the capacity of the heat pump.
The complete system, including the indoor and outdoor units, must meet the following requirements:
- It must be new.
- It must have been purchased from a Québec retailer or online from a retailer with an address in Québec.
- It must have been installed in an eligible home.

Eligible work

To be eligible, the work must meet the following requirements:

The heat pump must have a minimum power of 12,000 BTU/h multiplied by the number of addresses it serves (e.g., for a triplex, it must have a power of 3 x 12,000 BTU/h, namely 36,000 BTU/h).
One or more geothermal wells must be drilled vertically or horizontally with a sufficient heat transfer surface to respect the capacity of the heat pump.
The complete system, including the heat pump and the indoor unit(s), must meet the following requirements:
- It must be new.
- It must have been purchased from a Québec retailer or online from a retailer with an address in Québec.
- It must have been installed in an eligible home.

Eligible work

To be eligible, the work must meet the following requirements:

Geothermal heat pump

The work must involve the complete installation of one or more geothermal wells with a collector and one or more geothermal heat pumps for heating and air‑conditioning purposes. Eligible home: A newly constructed multiplex located in Québec and that receives its electricity from the Hydro‑Québec grid or from a municipal or cooperative system.

For your request for financial assistance to be eligible, the measure related to this option must have been implemented and must meet the following conditions:

High-efficiency heat pump

A high‑efficiency heat pump that qualifies for the Program must be installed at each address.
The system installed at each address must be a wall-mounted, air-to-air mini-split heat pump that includes one or more indoor units and one outdoor unit.
The complete system, including the outdoor unit and the indoor unit(s), must meet the following requirements:
- It must be new.
- It must be on the Program’s list of eligible, high-efficiency heat pumps [PDF 513 kB – in French only] ;
- It must have been purchased from a Québec retailer or online from a retailer with an address in Québec.
- It must have been installed in an eligible home.

Eligible work

To be eligible, the work must meet the following requirements:

High-efficiency heat pump

The work must involve the installation of a heat pump for heating and air-conditioning purposes.
The company that conducts the work must be listed on the Registraire des entreprises du Québec, have the appropriate licences issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) based on the work required, and be a member of the professional body associated with the activity sector in question.

Ineligible work

The following work is not eligible:

High-efficiency heat pump

The installation of indoor units, including the air distribution system, outside the home’s insulated areas, that is, outside the habitable spaces (e.g., in the attic or roof space).

Financial assistance

Hydro‑Québec provides financial assistance in the amount of $120 par 1,000 BTU/h at -8°C for this option when all Program requirements are met.

Solar thermal collectors must be connected to the domestic hot water circuit of the eligible home.
At least half of the water heaters in the multiplex must be preheated by solar thermal collectors.
The contractor that conducts the work must be listed on the Registraire des entreprises du Québec and have the appropriate licences issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) based on the work required.

Ineligible work

The following work is not eligible:
