Detailed calculation of the cost of electricity used, based on applicable rates and number of days, along with any credits or other charges (if applicable) plus taxes. This is the total cost of the electricity you have used, but it is not the amount you have to pay, because you are on the EPP.
In the example
Total consumption: 11 459 kWh
Kilowatthours used in billing period = 11 459 kWh
Up to xx kWh per day
Energy used, up to the product of 40 kWh times the number of days in the billing period (1st tier).
In this example, the calculation is based on the lowest of the following two values:
- kilowatthours used in billing period = 11 459 kWh
- 40 kWh x 122 days (number of days in the period) = 4 880 kWh.
4 880 kWh (up to 40 kWh per day) < 11 459 kWh (total consumption)
System access charge
The system access charge is a set amount you pay for the service itself, regardless of how much electricity you use. Here’s how it’s calculated:
System access charge per day x 122 days (billing period)
Note: This information is provided every other month, given that your actual consumption is calculated every two months as a function of your meter reading.
