When it’s cold out, everyone uses a lot of electricity at the same time, which puts a lot of pressure on the grid. This is what we call a winter peak.

At all times, and particularly during peak demand periods, we have to make a collective and individual effort to use less electricity. This is key to supporting Québec’s and helping to build a sustainable future for future generations.

Overall results for winter 2023‑2024

Many households and organizations significantly reduced their electricity demand despite the mild temperatures all winter long. Let’s see how they’re efforts have paid off!
