Changes to the Prescriptive Component of the Buildings Program

The Buildings Program was replaced by the Efficient Solutions Program on November 19, 2018.

If you took steps to join the Buildings Program – Prescriptive Component before November 19, 2018, please read the information below to learn about your options.

Select the situation that applies to your project. You are considered to have started work if you issued your first purchase order or signed your first contract related to the project.

You have two options:

  1. You can submit your project under the Efficient Solutions Program – Simplified Option in accordance with the requirements set out in the Participant’s Guide and in effect on November 19, 2018 (see the Option documentation and tools in effect on that date).

    Your project, which was registered under the Prescriptive Component, will be canceled and registered under the Simplified Option. You will receive a new project number when you submit your completed project under the Simplified Option.

  2. You can continue with your project under the Prescriptive Component of the Buildings Program, in accordance with the requirements set out in the Participant’s Guide and in effect on the project start date.

You must submit your project under the Efficient Solutions Program – Simplified Option in accordance with the requirements set out in the Participant’s Guide and in effect on the project start date. (See the transitional rules applicable to this option).

Your project, which was registered under the Prescriptive Component, will be canceled and registered under the Simplified Option. You will receive a new project number when you submit your completed project under the Simplified Option.

Your project doesn’t qualify for any program.

The project may qualify for the Efficient Solutions Program – Simplified Option.

Hydro-Québec may ask you for paperwork explaining the reason for the start date.

Past requirements under the Prescriptive Component of the Buildings Program

The Program requirements applicable to the project are those that are in effect on the project start date.
